Copyediting is dying. At least the jobs are and that's what the majority of the newspaper industry is saying when they keep laying off and eliminating copy editors. And it's evident, as I read article after article and browse websites, copy editors might be seen as unnecessary financially but their content need isn't gone. And I think readers understand that as they see countless errors in what they read, even in headlines.
That's why I continue to pursue editing and offer editing services, because it's needed and readers not only want it, but value it. All it takes is one glance at comment sections, and you'll know.
I'm an extremely versatile journalist. I've worked on monthly, weekly and daily publications along with print and online formats. I have reported stories, edited stories for GSSP, accuracy and wordiness, fact-checked, taken photographs, written captions, SEO headlines, subheads and on the side information, added metatags and keywords. I have experience in page designing and video editing including putting together a package.
I know that any content I touch, I can add value to it and ensure it's in its best possible form. It's what I was made to do.
And I want to be able to do that for you. I can work with you on pricing to find something that works for your budget while helping you create high-impact content that is error free. Reach out to me whether you need an editor for one project, a long-term project or if you are interested on bringing me on as an independent contractor.
